Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit,
I thank you for being with me this day,
For all the happiness your will has brought,
And for all the toil and hardships I have had to accept.
Forgive me for the times when I have forgotten you
Amid the cares of life.
Forgive me also if I have not accepted
Any suffering in the same spirit as Christ my Lord.
Help me to rest in peace this night,
That I may wake truly
Refreshed and willing to spend a new day
In your service.
Guard me this night,
As the good shepherd guards his flock.
Grant that,
In your mercy and love,
When I close my eyes on this world
For the last time,
I may wake in the joy of your presence
To a new everlasting day.
