I PRAYED FOR YOU

In quietness I sought the heavenly

Father in my room,

And thanked Him for His loving care.

Mid rays of mornings first bloom

And then I told Him all about you,

And your needs today;

He was expecting me, because

I told you I would pray.

I prayed for you this morn.

I prayed He'd give you special yelp,

And extra angels send

To lift the burdens that you bear,

Because you are my friend.

I asked Him to be with you every hour

The whole day long

To comfort you in sorrow,

And in weakness makes you strong.

I prayed for you today.

My heart is filled with gratitude

Words fail me to express

My deep appreciation

For your love and thoughtfulness.

I cannot recompense you for

The trust you have in me,

But I share with you our Friend

In silence on my knee

I prayed for you tonight.
